Discord welcome flows: one link for rules, roles, and resources

Communities outgrow pinned posts. A short hub URL you control can rotate destinations while the invite and bio stay the same.

Creator growth and platform strategy

Discord moves fast: new channels, seasonal events, tool switches. If every update requires editing five pinned messages and twenty mod macros, documentation drifts.

One canonical “start here” URL

Create a short path like /discord-start that lands on your current onboarding page: rules summary, role picker instructions, FAQ, and links to deeper docs. When Notion or Google Docs moves, you redirect once.

Invites vs. resource links

Server invites expire or get rotated for abuse. Your resource short link should be on infrastructure you control so it survives invite churn.

Partner servers and collabs

Temporary collabs get their own slug (/collab-march) so you can sunset cleanly when the event ends—without scrubbing chat history.

Moderation hygiene

Mods can paste the same short link in #verify or ticket bots. Consistency reduces “which doc is official?” disputes.

Use Octilink to mint paths in seconds and repoint them when your stack changes. Analytics optional: spikes after TikTok pushes or YouTube mentions tell you when onboarding breaks under load.
